Dr. Yogesh Pratap Singh (Registrar, National Law University Odisha)
Yogesh Pratap Singh received his LL.M. (with specialization in Human Rights Laws) from National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bangalore and LL.B. from the University of Allahabad. His doctoral thesis titled “Contribution of Dissenting Opinions of Indian Supreme Court Judges to the Indian Legal System: A Critical Evaluation” is recognized as a significant contribution to the understanding of voting patterns of judges in the Supreme Court of India. His book titled “On Judicial Dissent” is accepted for publication by Thomson Reuters. He participated in the 39th Annual Session on International Human Rights Law organized by International Institute of Human Rights (IIHR) Strasbourg, France. Dr. Singh has also been part of Ciedhu programme in France conducted for University Teachers.
Prior to joining National Law University Odisha in 2009, when it was established, he was part of the founding team of KIIT Law School, KIIT University, Bhubaneswar. Dr. Singh has also worked as a Legal Researcher in the Rural Litigation and Entitlement Kendra (RLEK), Dehradun. He has presented numerous papers on constitutional, social and legal issues at various national and international seminars. He constantly writes in the field of law in reputed law chronicles, national and international law journals. Dr Singh also writes for the general public, contributing recurrently to The New Indian Express, The Statesman, The Tribune, Deccan Herald, The Wire etc.
Dr. Sohini Mahapatra completed her Ph.D. from NLU Odisha, on ‘Non-Humans and the Law: An Analysis of Animal Welfare and Animal Rights Within the Indian Legal Discourse’. Furthermore, She is a proud alumni of National Law University Odisha having completed her Masters in Law from NLUO, in 2014 where she was awarded the University Gold Medal for securing First Rank in LLM. She completed her B.A.LLB from Amity Law School, Amity University, NOIDA in the year 2012, where she was awarded Merit Scholarship by Amity University for Academic Performance (2010-11 and 2009-10).
Dr. Kuntirani Padhan is a Faculty at National Law University Odisha, Cuttack. She has been in the teaching profession since 2011. She holds a Doctorate degree in Law and apart from it she holds two regular Post Graduate degrees, one in Law and other one in Economics. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Application(BCA) with her expertise in working with productivity software, web technology and front end tools. Her doctoral work is a Socio-legal study of the legal imperatives of honour killings in the criminal justice administration system of India. She specializes in Criminal laws, Procedural Laws and Clinical Legal Education. She has a keen interest in undertaking outreaching initiatives in the villages adopted by the University.

Dr. Priyanka Anand has been associated with National Law University Odisha since 2015 as Assistant Professor of Law. Her alma mater for the first degree in law is Chanakya National Law University, Patna and thereafter she pursued her masters’ degree in law from NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad. Her affinity towards commercial laws and the urge to consolidate her knowledge of the subject influenced her decision to take up specialization in Corporate Law and Governance at NALSAR. The opportunity to do LL.M at NALSAR and to work as a Teacher Assistant in her final semester, actually cruised her career path towards academics. Her academic career as a student at two different national law schools and a faculty at two other NLU’s has helped her immensely to position herself as a teacher in this setting. She cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) of University Grants Commissions during her postgraduate study in 2012. She has been a sincere and diligent student throughout her academic life and her securing second highest CGPA in B.A.LL.B (Hons.) and highest CGPA in LL.M (Corporate Law & Governance) bears a testimony to it. She started her teaching career at NUSRL, Ranchi in August 2013 and undertook courses for both undergraduate and postgraduate students. Since, February 2015, she has been working at NLUO, Cuttack. She has also completed her Ph.D. from WBNUJS, Kolkata engaging in the field of public law. Her interest areas include Taxation Laws, Constitutional Law, Legal theories and Competition Law.
